ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Aberdeen Bowling Club
Last updated: 07/04/26
Aberdeen Bowling Club is a private club, run voluntarily by members. We are committed to making our website as accessible and user‑friendly as possible so that all members, visitors, and the wider community can find the information they need.
As a volunteer-run private club, we do our best to follow good accessibility practices within the time and resources available to us. We welcome feedback from anyone who experiences
1) Our Commitment
We aim for the website to be easy to navigate and readable for as many people as possible. To support this, we try to:
Use clear and simple language
Keep page layouts clean and consistent
Use readable fonts and appropriate text sizes
Ensure good colour contrast
Add alternative text to images where possible
Make sure the website works on mobile, tablet, and desktop devices
We review accessibility from time to time and may use free accessibility tools or scans to identify improvements .
2) What We Can Realistically Offer
As a volunteer-run private club, we may not always be able to fix every issue immediately. However, we will always:
Record accessibility feedback
Look into issues raised
Make improvements where they are within our ability
Seek external help if needed and feasible for the club
If an issue requires technical work beyond our volunteer capacity, we will look for reasonable alternatives or workarounds.
We have also added some additional features through our free-to-use Accessibility Widget with the third-party provider, Tabnav. This Accessibility Widget is located on the bottom right of the website and includes a range of extra accessibility features that you can select and apply whilst using our website. We have provided this Accessibility Widget to increase the inclusivity and accessibility of our website for all users, but please be aware that there are some limitations with this free-to-use widget. Additional software and/or the built-in accessibility features on your device may still be required.
3) Third‑Party Content
Our website includes:
A Google Shared Calendar to display club events
A Facebook icon link that redirects to our Facebook page (no embedded feed)
These features are provided by third‑party services, and we cannot control their accessibility.
If you experience issues with the calendar or any linked external pages, please let us know so we can explore possible alternatives.
4) Help Using the Website
You may find it helpful to use your device’s built‑in accessibility features, such as:
Zoom or text enlargement
High‑contrast display settings
Screen readers (e.g., VoiceOver, NVDA, or Narrator)
Browser extensions to improve readability
We are happy to assist members in finding these tools if needed.
5) Reporting Accessibility Issues
If you experience any difficulty using our website, please tell us. We rely on member feedback to help us improve.
Contact for accessibility feedback:
Aberdeen Bowling Club Committee
Email: info@aberdeenbowlingclub.com
When you contact us, please describe:
The page or feature you were using
The issue you encountered
The device and browser you were using (if you know it)
This helps our volunteers understand and investigate the problem more quickly.
6) What We Will Do When Feedback Is Received
When we receive accessibility feedback, we will:
Log the issue in our internal Accessibility Feedback Log
Review it at the next volunteer website update session
Attempt to make improvements where possible
Respond to let you know what we can or plan to do
Our approach follows the practical steps we use when reviewing accessibility matters and using free scanning tools where helpful.
7) Continuous Improvement
We will continue to check the website periodically and make small updates over time. As a volunteer-run private club, we appreciate patience and community input as we work to keep the website usable for everyone.
