National Lottery Funding for Aberdeen Bowling Club in 2026
At the end of the 2025 bowling season our water pump, which had been patched up and repaired over the last few years, finally gave up the ghost. This was a serious problem for The Club as the pump powers the irrigation system to our Green. No pump - no water to The Green, and ultimately, in hot conditions, NO Green.
With club finances tight we explored various options as to how to finance the purchase and installation of a new pump. It was decided we should seek funding from The National Lottery and in November 2025 we submitted our application, highlighting the benefits Aberdeen Bowling Club brings to our members and the wider community.
By late January 2026, we received the very welcome news that our application had been partially successful - and that lottery money would be available to us the following week. This enabled our committee to give the project the green light, and we look forward to the installation of a new water pump at our club early in the new season.
2026 is the Centenary Year of Aberdeen Bowling Club on Carlton Place. National Lottery Funding has helped in no small measure to ensure the continuation of The Club into the next century.
